I attended one of the tours in December last year and experienced some events that I could not immediately rationalise. Some of the phenomena were experienced by the whole group, light and sound anomalies and responses to direct questions... as I said, haven't made my mind up but could not rationalise what caused the events or rule them out.

Thank you for your feedback Amergin. I was not a witness to the strange phenomena in the tunnel on that particular trip but have witnessed the same events on different occassions. I have spoken to some of the research team and they have captured what you describe on video and audio tape. Mediums in the team claim that one spirit in the tunnel is that of someone called Bob who they believed worked in the Prison. Other mediums on the February tour believe there are several presences in the tunnel - those of workmen who died in its construction. As of yet there has been no physical manifestations at that tour location but there is certainly evidence demonstrating many events that have to date remained unexplained.
ReplyDeleteI was in the tunnel twice - the first time I saw what appeared to be a small shadow of someone behind one of the guides. I was then informed that yes, there was a presence there. On my second visit I made sure that I was on the 'tunnel team' again and this time saw orbs and what could only be explained by me, to me, as shooting stars at the end of the tunnel. I also witnessed the unexplained dragging noise. Since I have always believed in the paranormal, I can take refuge in the fact that nobody ever has enough information to explain these happenings and even if they did, they won't be able to explain everything. So I'm not mad! Really can't wait to go again ..........
ReplyDeleteHI the tunnel has always proven to be a very active place we are aware of a spirit of a man who will walk behind visitors and make himself known with knocking noises or sighs.
ReplyDeleteI would recomend people to say "hi" when they are walking into the tunnel as it is a good way to get the activity to start, Warren.
I was on the 26/03/09 tour and went to the tunnel for the final part of the evening. Whilst there, we all heard noises (but one presumes that they are caused by the physical people around!). The dominant noise there was the ‘swishing’ that we quickly put down to wind and traffic. Joe (guide) stated that it was not possible for the noise to be either of these as we were at the far end of the (deep) tunnel and the road was not above us...then we started thinking it was something else (which is exciting!).
ReplyDeleteWhen stationary and calling upon the spirits we seemed not to hear anything, but when we moved further back up to the centre of the tunnel we heard tapping and some even said whistling! At the far end of the tunnel however almost all the group saw what appeared to be a man in the distance (who was stepping in and out of the dim light). When we moved closer however, we did not see it. It is so difficult to tell if you actually do see something or not! I think I will bring binoculars next time to see clearer! I do hope though that we find out if there was any noise picked up from the recording (Jo from NIPRA was our leader). It certainly proved to be an interesting evening!!
Upon review of my photos, I spotted a couple of things that I believe are NOT orbs… looks like a face in one particular doorway in the Circle (in more than one photo). Is there somewhere that I can upload it to show all?
